Compression Therapy

An essential technique for overall health and recovery.

What is Compression Therapy?

NormaTec Compression Therapy uses compressed air to massage your legs, arms, or hips in order to mobilize fluid and speed recovery. When you use our systems,  you will first experience a pre-inflate cycle, during which the connected attachments are molded to your body shape. The session will then begin by compressing your feet, hands, or upper thighs.

Similar to the kneading and stroking done during a massage, each segment of the attachment will first compress and then release. This will repeat for each segment of the attachment as the compression pattern works its way up your legs, arms, or hips.

How it helps

The dynamic air compression system surrounds your arms, legs, or hips and pulsates between different zones while other areas hold, improving fluid movement out of the limbs and leading to faster recovery, recuperation, and reduced swelling.

Most Popular Questions

To receive the full benefits of NormaTec compression therapy, we suggest using it for approximately 30 minutes.

During your compression therapy session at ºdegree Wellness you’ll have the sensation of a very tight squeeze that works its way up the chambers of the device you’re using (arms or legs). It’s very relaxing, much like a massage, as it soothes your sore and tired muscles.

Comfortable yet tight-fitting clothes are best. If your clothes are too loose, as the device compresses, the fabric can bunch and be uncomfortable.

The Pulse technology at ºdegree Wellness is designed to externally compress the limbs in a way that mimics normal physiology using a sophisticated pulsing, gradient and distal release compression pattern for the most effective recovery tool.

You can use Compression Therapy before or after exercise, for routine training or high-level competition.
